The passenger list (318,000 records)
The passenger lists from the Finland Steamship Company
give information on emigrants from Finland, mostly through the port of Hanko.
Most of these are Finnish emigrants, but the database also contains information
on Russian passengers who went through Finland. The passenger lists covers the
following periods:
- The years 1892-1896, 1899-1914, 1920-1939, 1949-1960 (original sources of
information cover only rather small part of all the emigrants after 1949).
- All available passenger lists have are in this database.

Passport records (229,000 records)
The passport records are based on the lists kept by the
provinces and magistrates from the beginning of the 1800's to 1920. At the
beginning of 2005 the following areas and time periods were available in the
database:
- Hanko / Hangö town magistrate, 1900-1903
- Häme province, 1903-1904
- Kristiinankaupunki / Kristinestad town magistrate, 1890-1891 and 1900-1901
- Kokkola / Gamla Karleby town magistrate, 1899-1902
- Kuopio province, to Russia: 1890-1899, and to overseas countries (incl.
America): 1900-1915
- Mikkeli province, 1914-1915
- Oulu province, 1897-1922
- Turku and Pori province, 1899-1905
- Vaasa province, 1896-1904
- Viipuri province, to America: 1906-1909
More than 100 000 records are still to be entered in the
database.

This database includes information on the victims of Stalin's purges in the Soviet Union from 1930s to1950s. It is based on the book "Olimme joukko vieras vaan" by Eila-Lahti Argutina published by the Institute of Migration in 2001.

This database features information from the Archives of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs until the year 1950, mainly documents about Finns deceased
abroad.
- Finns deceased abroad, all countries, circa 1918-1950
- The estate records of the Consulate General of Finland in New York,
circa 1918-1950
- Most of records are still to be entered in the database.

from Kuusamo, Karstula, Kälviä and Mikkeli.
